Help for Butterfly Children
„Butterfly children“ are the young people afflicted by epidermolysis bullosa. Their skin is as vulnerable as the wings of a butterfly. This disease is still incurable, and even the slightest friction or trauma causes painful blisters in the skin all over the body and even in the mucosal membranes of the mouth, eyes, or esophagus.
The non-profit organization DEBRA Austria has helped those suffering from epidermolysis bullosa for almost twenty years. This year, the „Suppenkuchl“ soup kitchen is offering a wide variety of soups and making a special contribution to support this organization: Part of the net proceeds of „Suppenkuchl’s“ specialties will go to DEBRA Austria. Enjoy a bowl of delicious soup and help the butterfly children!
The DRZ (Demontage- und Recycling-Zentrum — Disassembly and Recycling Center) is a Vienna-based social/economic operation engaged in disassembling used electrical appliances and electronic equipment.
At the DRZ’s Trash Design“ manufacturing shop, unemployed people and persons with special needs, instructed by technically and artistically skilled staff, make esthetically appealing, high-quality furniture and accessories from parts of scrapped electrical and electronic equipment. These one-off products are for sale at the artisans‘ market.
GLOBAL 2000 contributes to this year’s Christmas Market by giving a lecture entitled „Seeing The World By Bicycle“ followed by an amusing quiz, and by lovingly wrapping your presents by hand as in 2011. Your donation for your professional wrapping(s) will go to GLOBAL 2000 and the „Kind-Familie-Umwelt“ („child-family-environment“) association.
The Kind-Familie-Umwelt („child-family-environment“) association helps mentally and physically distressed children and youths by providing funds for psychotherapy as well as psychological treatment and counseling. This is done unbureaucratically and very quickly if help is needed urgently.
At the artisans‘ market, you can find out more about the many activities of this association and how to donate. One way is to go to the divina art gift wrapping stand and have your presents nicely wrapped for a donation. The entire proceeds will go directly and without any deduction into therapy sessions for children.

Ö1 für Licht ins Dunkel
This year, Austrian „Culture Radio“ Österreich 1 brings another dedicated programme to our stage and runs a punch booth. On two days, a high-class cultural show including musical highlights from many different genres will be presented. The revenue from punch sales has been earmarked for a charitable project as part of ORF’s annual „Licht ins Dunkel“ („Light in the Dark“) appeal.
Artisans for Artisans
Most artisans are one-person companies or self-employed depending solely on their own work for a living. Being sick or having to take care of others for prolonged periods of time may ruin their existence.
