On the one hand I use fulled sheep’s wool to make plumages for colourful birds. On the other I stuff little cloth cows with lavender to pamper your nose and repel moths. In addition, at Wams&Walk you can find bags, jackets, waistcoats, dresses, etc.
Fulled fabric is made from spun and knitted sheep’s wool that is gently thickened at 60°C (140°F). I buy these precious cloths from suppliers in the „Bucklige Welt“ (literally, „hunchbacked world“), the famous land of rolling hills in southeastern Lower Austria.
By the way, the German word „Wams“ in our company name originally denotes the full stomach of a cow, and nowadays a waistcoat. The diminutive, „Wämschen“, is a German word for a small sleeveless jacket for children.
